Dr. Peyman Hekmatpour is a sociologist whose research sits at the intersection of global stratification, environmental sociology, and quantitative methods. He uses advanced statistical and computational approaches to examine how cultural and material forces, both local and global, shape inequalities within and between nations.

He received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma in 2022, where he was named Outstanding Doctoral Student of the Year (2019) and received the Nancy L. Mergler Dissertation Completion Fellowship. His research has been published in top-tier academic journals.

Beyond academia, Dr. Hekmatpour brings extensive experience in longitudinal and cross-sectional data management, dataset construction, and modeling, skills he applies across both scholarly research and applied settings.
